Full Description:
The System Administrator (SA) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. You will participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. You will ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, volunteers, and Partners.
You will assist game development teams with technical issues in the conception and production phases of the games development. These activities include the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research & development within the project life-cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions.
You will be accountable for the following systems: Linux and Windows systems that support our Global Network Infrastructure; Linux, Windows and Application systems that support Asset Management; Responsibilities on these systems include SA engineering and provisioning, operations and support, maintenance and research and development to ensure continual innovation.
Responsibilities
•Communicate extensively with our Global Network Services (located in China) to ensure game systems and services are designed properly and then deployed and operated efficiently. Iterate on server architecture design with global network architect
•Design, coordinate and implement various IT projects related to:
1.Network and infrastructure
2. Office and collaborative tools: documents production and sharing tools, wiki,Sharepoint…
• Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
• Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
• Monitoring Network Congestion and Problems and apply proper solutions to resolve.
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
• Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
• Install, configure and manage Windows Servers, manage LAN, router/switches, VPN
• Anticipate scalability needs to support large number of concurrent users
• System administration duties for a group of machines on which development, test, and deployment of platform services, game servers and monitoring tools takes place.
• Communicate frequently with management to provide feedback, risk analysis, issue and solutions status, and requirements that may impact strategic direction
• Interact at all level in the company with users to get a perfect understanding of their jobs and needs
• Support game production teams in their development cycle.
• Understanding Live Operations constraints
• Managing the Desktop Support Technician team (2 members) and helping him in case of issues
